York Musical Society gave their 2025 Christmas Concert at St Lawrence Parish Church, York, on 13 December 2025, under the direction of David Pipe. The programme ranged from excerpts from Handel's Messiah and arrangements of traditional carols by Willcocks and Rutter to works by William Mathias and Richard Shephard, with soprano soloist Ellie Miles-Kingston and organist Shaun Turnbull.

Reviewer Steve Crowther singled out David Pipe's organ performance of the Coventry Carol as "nothing short of poetic" and praised the choir's account of Mathias's Sir Christèmas, writing that "the choir captured the energy and drive, and I heard a joy that was forged rather than decorative."
